Winter Games from January 9 to 22nd 2020 - 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games,

Well known on a national level with its proximity to the training centre CNSNMM (National Centre for Nordic skiing and Mountain sports), Les Tuffes is one of the few stadium in the world to be able to organize all the 4 nordic disciplines ( biathlon, cross-country, ski jumping and nordic combined).

YOG 2020 : first time 2 countries are collaborating for the Olympics.

On January 9-22, 2020, Lausanne will welcome the 3rd edition of the Winter Youth Olympics. For the first time in history, the proposal was made to the CIO to include the infrastructures of a neighbouring country, France.

Jura will welcome Youth Winter Olympic Games Lausanne 2020 and organize the events including Biathlon, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined in Les Tuffes stadium, Station des Rousses.

The Youth Olympic Games is an International event of the highest level for athletes between the ages of 15 and 18, encouraging young athletes to adopt the positive values of sports. It’s not only an association of performance in sports but also of culture and education connected to a true festival of sports.

YOG IN NUMBERS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF FRANCE

• 8 competition venues, all in Switzerland except for 1 in France

• 16 disciplines including 3 in Les Tuffes stadium: Biathlon, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined

• 1880 athletes including 350 athletes in the events organized in France

• 71 participating nations, 40 nations in Biathlon, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined

• 20 000 spectators pour for the events organized in Haut Jura
